Our Environment
We have a pleasant environment, with large grassed area, well-kept gardens and established trees around the school border.
Our Facilities:
Recreational courts,
Sandpit,
Adventure playground,
Senior fitness training complex,
School vege gardens,
School tunnel house,
Three classrooms – hat/bag storage area,
Modern administration building, and
Library/Multi Purpose Room.
Our Rocks
Our whole school life is governed by the Foundation Rocks. These rocks are values and attitudes (such as responsibility, honesty, being proactive, reliability) that we all need to ensure we become confident, active, lifelong learners able to meet the demands of a constantly changing society.
Each week we have one rock that we talk about and look at how it looks in our day-to-day lives.
Our discipline policy is based on these rocks, and the children are very aware of how they need to keep these rocks firm in their character.

Room 1 - New Entrant - Year 2
Room 2 - Years 3 - 4
Room 3 - Years 5 - 6
Enviroschools
In 2022, Thornbury School gained an Enviroschools Bronze Award.
Active Southland
Active learning is a core pillar of development here at Thornbury Primary and we are happy to partner with Active Southland to ensure healthy frequent exercise.
